Managing Your Authors
Control access to your item banks and manage item security in a multi-author environment. Limit the exposure of your item banks and items by assigning access rights to your Item Writers. Define which item banks, item folders and items the Item Writers have access to, and which functions (create, edit, view) the Item Writers can perform. All Item Writer activity is tracked, and changes are tied to a specific Item Writer account.
Managing Your Items
Track your Items through their entire lifecycle using Webassessor’s Item Bank Workflow. As your Item Writers complete a step in the item development process, Webassessor captures their account information, workflow state of item, item writer notes, date, time and item content. Since all workflow activity and item change history is tracked, this information could assist with legal defensibility.
Organize and store your items in easy to manage libraries called Item Banks. Within your Item Banks, use the flexible Item Folder structure to group and store your items. Also, to simplify management of Items and Item Banks, allowing Items, Item Folders and Item Banks can be copied and moved within the Item Bank structure. You control how your items are sorted and stored.
Webassessor provides an easy to use interface for creating and editing your items, including an HTML Item Editor. Item Editor features including Spell Check, text formatting, images and video, tables and lists mean you can create robust and engaging items. You can even preview your items to confirm proper scoring and layout.
Choose between Webassessor’s eight core item types including: Multi-choice, Multi-select, Matching, True/False, Yes/No, Short Answer/Essay, Fill in the Blank and Single Selection.
Further customize your Item Bank by storing custom data with your items. Examples include psychometric properties such as item difficulty, reliability or program information such as expiration date, or reference materials.
Distributing Your Test Forms
Once items have been created and stored in your Item Bank, you can assemble them on a Test Form to create your assessments. The easy to use Test Form management interface allows you to add items from any Item Bank to build your assessments. Once assembled, your Test Forms can be exported to standard file formats, including XML and Microsoft Word.
