When prospective test takers want to get a feel for whether they have the skills and experience to pursue certification in a certain field, a self assessment can be very useful. Typically a self assessment will provide the test taker with specific feedback on how they did on the test. This breaks down the different topics (alternatively called sections, chapters or domains) of the assessment into separate areas and gives a score for each topic. It can also include feedback on an item level. When items are being written in Webassessor™, there is a field where feedback can be entered and then presented to the test taker either on all items, or just on the ones they answered incorrectly. This feedback can be as general or specific as you'd like and can include links to your body of knowledge.
