Real-Time Program Management and Insight
Webassessor allows you to take control of your testing program and creates a secure information rich environment for your Administrators. Through a powerful, highly secure and easy-to-use interface your Administrators can quickly and effectively make updates, access real-time program information, and manage Test Taker activity.
All data collected and transferred in the Administrative module is protected with 128-bit encryption, offering strong protection for your sensitive Program data.
Administrative functionality includes:
- Test Taker Management
- Assessment Management
- Testing Network Management
- Administration Team Management
- Integration
- Robust Real-Time Reporting
Test Taker Management
- Managing Test Taker Accounts
Your Administrators can create new Test Taker accounts, as well as edit existing Test Taker accounts. Account data can be manually entered, or imported by the KRYTERION support team. Managing Test Taker account information includes modifying demographic information, changing the account password, sending system emails and changing the secret word. Custom demographic information captured can be used for Test Taker reporting, managing assessment registration eligibility or prerequisite criteria.
- Assessment Registration and Administration
In the Test Taker module, your Test Takers can self register for assessments. In addition, for situations where you want to closely manage Test Taker registration, your Administrators can perform these tasks for the Test Taker in the Administrative Module. For example, you can require a Test Taker to call your organization’s support desk to register for an assessment.
In addition, your Administrators can manage the status of your test sessions. For example if a Test Taker accidentally submits an assessment before they have answered all the questions, your administrators can change the status of that session from “complete” back to “in progress”. The test could then be restarted and the Test Taker continues where they left off. In the case of a proctored test, your Administrators can also support the Test Taker by performing tasks such as, emailing test schedules, resending Test Taker Authorization Codes, or rescheduling test sessions.
Your Administrators also manage the financial details of Test Taker assessment registrations. This functionality includes providing discounts, managing non-credit card transactions, issuing refunds and enabling or disabling assessments.
- Review Results and Score Assessments
Keep track of how your Test Takers are performing on your assessments using the Results feature. You can view all results for your organization, or select them by Region, keyword, or date completed.
In addition to having tests scored and results provided immediately upon completion, Administrators can also manually score assessments that include short answer or essay questions, or assessments that have been set to be manually reviewed before providing a score to a Test Taker. The robust Manual Score functionality allows you to hold release of final scores until the completion of a testing window, and include rich essay questions on your assessments.
Assessment Management
To support a multi-authoring environment, you can assign test development accounts to individuals who will need to access your Webassessor assessments. Assessment specific roles include Item Writer and Event Manager. Use these accounts to limit exposure of your Item Banks and test forms.
- Item Banking Security
Webassessor's Item Bank security provides you the ability to control access to your Item Banks and manage item security in a multi-author environment. Security is applied to the "Item Writer" role and includes controls for restricting viewing, altering folder structure, editing, and setting permissions for other users.
- Managing Items
Items are organized and stored in libraries called Item Banks. Item Banks can be broken into multiple levels of Item Folders. To simplify management of Items and Item Banks, Webassessor has a flexible structure; allowing Items, Item Folders and Item Banks to be copied and moved within the Item Bank structure.
- Item Development
Webassessor includes eight core item types including: Multi-choice, Multi-select, Matching, True/False, Yes/No, Short Answer/Essay, Fill in the Blank and Single Selection.
Webassessor's HTML Item Editor provides an easy to use interface for creating and editing your items. Standard features such as Spell Check, text formatting, images and video, tables and lists means you can create robust, engaging items. You can even preview your items to confirm proper scoring and view how they appear to Test Takers.
- Item Properties
Custom psychometric properties allow you to store additional information with your items. These fields can be used for tracking item specific information such as expiration dates, item difficulty and reference materials.
- Item Workflow
Webassessor's Item Workflow functionality manages an Item through its lifecycle. At each stage in the process an item will have a state. In order to move to another state a workflow action is taken. The KRYTERION best practice Item Workflow process includes: Item Written, Item Edit, Technical Review, Psychometric Review, Completed, Rejected, and Retired. Webassessor also stores the item’s workflow history, tracking the history of an item as it moves through the workflow life cycle. Since all workflow activity is tracked, this information could assist with legal defensibility.
- Change History
Along with workflow history, Webassessor tracks an item’s change history. This function stores and presents all the changes that occur for an item. This information is presented in an easy to read “Changed from this to that” interface that makes item change history tracking a simple task.
- Test Form Management
Once items have been created and stored in your Item Bank, you can assemble them on a Test Form to create your assessments. The easy to use Test Form management interface allows you to add items from any Item Bank to build your assessments. When adding items to a Test Form, your Administrator has the ability to add the entire Item Bank, an Item Folder (or multiple folders) and /or specific items within an Item Bank or Item Folder. Items added to a Test Form are linked to the item in the Item Bank. When a change is made to an item in an Item Bank, that change is reflected on all Test Forms in which that item appears.
Within a Test Form, items can be sorted Test Form topics for delivery and scoring purposes. The flexibility to move and copy items between Test Forms, and within Test Forms and Test Form topics gives you complete control over how your items will appear on an assessment.
As you retire your Test Forms, you can inactivate your old Test Forms, but continue to report on the historical results data.
- Test Form and Topic Scoring
Test Form scoring is highly customizable; allowing you to assign an overall score, a topic score or just provide feedback. Your Administrator can also use a scaled score table to manage scoring across equivalent forms. You can also customize how the results appear to your Test Takers, configuring results to be displayed as just an overall pass/fail, or a point/percentage score. This configuration is available at both the Test Form and the topic level.
- Item & Test Form Comments
If you want to receive real-time feedback on your Items and Test Forms, use the Item & Test Form Commenting functions. This functionality prompts your Test Taker to provide comments on the items or the Test form. The instructions to the Test Taker are configurable by Test Form so you can use this for Beta testing your test, or to capture information from your Test Taker at test completion.

Creating a Product is the last step in making an assessment ready for Test Taker registration. The Product Management tools in Webassessor allow Administrators to set a wide range of rules for assessment registration and delivery.- Test Delivery Options
